It’s been quite some time since I have posted here… things have been hectic, though uneventful.
To make up my lapse, here’s a handful of my stories, from a range of sites.
Moving Together over at Story64 from October. A nice site, but it seems to have died.
To Ride the Elephant, at Ad Hoc Fiction (that link goes to the weekly prompt, I don’t know if you can link to previous stories)
At only six years old, Gerry was rather young to set upon his ultimate aim in life. Elephants. That’s what he intended. Many dismissed his dream out of hand with other childish thoughts of being an astronaut, rock-star or President. Rural Arkansas wasn’t exactly notorious for being lousy with pachyderms.
Like all his friends, Gerry got a low paying laboring job. Like Pappy said, it ain’t like there’s much else work going round.
As it does, life happened and time passed. Grand children — but no elephants — eventuated.
Taking the young ‘uns to the county fair, there was a carousel with an elephant. You best believe that Gerry had himself a bunch of rides on it, smiling the whole time.
“Never too late to catch your dreams,” he said, going around again.
Five from 101words, which has been my favourite place (and format) for quite some time now:
April 28 Showing Backbone
November 17 Galactic Overlords
November 12 Redemption
September 30 Union
